I think fees should be on the website, not hidden until you're already on the consult call. Here are mine.
per 50-minute session
In person in Toronto or online across Ontario. First session is slightly longer at no extra charge.
per 60–80 minute session
First couples session is 75 minutes. Ongoing sessions run 60–80 minutes depending on what we're working on.
per 75–90 minute session
Family sessions run longer because they need to. Includes parent & adult-child work and blended family sessions.
Free 30-minute consult before any booking. Fees shown are in Canadian dollars and include HST where applicable.
I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #005584), and most modern extended health plans in Canada now cover Registered Psychotherapists. Before we start, it's worth calling your plan provider and asking three specific questions:
I don't direct bill. I'll give you a detailed receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurer yourself. Most people find the process straightforward once they know what to ask.
I hold a small number of reduced-fee spots in my practice at any given time. They're not advertised by default because they fill quickly, but if cost is genuinely the thing standing between you and therapy, I would rather you reach out than assume it's impossible.
On the consult call, just tell me. We'll figure out whether a reduced-fee spot is available right now, whether it makes more sense to start with biweekly sessions, or whether I can connect you with a good clinician in training at a lower rate who I supervise personally.
There's no shame in this conversation. Therapy should not be only for people who can afford the full fee.
Usually yes. If my practice is full when you reach out, I'll tell you honestly and offer to put you on a short waitlist or refer you to a colleague I trust.
Both. I see clients in person in Toronto and online anywhere in Ontario on a secure, PHIPA-compliant video platform. Many of my clients choose online even when they live close by — it works.
Most clients start weekly. Many move to biweekly once the work is established. Some come for a focused course of sessions and then step away when they're ready. We'll decide together.
I ask for 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations and no-shows are billed at the full rate. I'm human about genuine emergencies.
Payment is processed at the end of each session, by credit card kept securely on file through Jane, my practice management system. You get an automatic receipt by email.
Yes, with the standard legal exceptions every therapist in Ontario has to disclose: risk of harm to self or others, child safety, elder or vulnerable person safety, and court order. I'll walk you through all of it during your first full session.
It depends on what you're working on. Some people come for a focused three months. Others stay longer for deeper work. I'll give you an honest read after a few sessions, and we'll decide together what a reasonable scope looks like.
No — Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario don't prescribe. If medication seems worth considering, I'll help you think about it and coordinate with your family doctor or a psychiatrist.
Unfortunately no. CRPO regulations limit me to clients physically located in Ontario at the time of session. If you're moving provinces, let's talk early and I can help you find someone at your destination.
That's what the free consult is for — to figure it out before you've committed anything. And if we start working together and it turns out I'm not the right clinician for you, I'll say so and point you toward someone I trust. No hard feelings.
Yes, fully and warmly. This is an affirming practice for individuals, couples, and families across the spectrum.
If you're in immediate crisis, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or call Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566. I'm not a crisis service, but once you're safe I'd be glad to help with what comes next.
Bring it to the free consult. That's exactly what the call is for.
